Peace be still, the Prince of Peace is here!

Word For Today: January 23, 2020: Peace be still, the Prince of Peace is here!


Beloved,


I don’t know about you but what does peace in the midst of the storm look like to you? I would have said up until this morning, “it would be Jesus speaking to the storm to be still, and it went away.”


Yet, the deeper truth of the peace and rest of God happened way before he spoke to the storm. This picture spoke to me this morning, and I had to put it as our cover photo for 2020 at least for this point in the new year.


Jesus is the Prince of Peace. What is He doing walking on the water in the midst of the storm? EXACTLY WHAT THE FATHER TOLD HIM TO DO. He knew he was going into a storm. He knew he was going to walk on the water. He knew Peter was going to walk on the water.


He knew Peter would take his eyes off of him and sink some and need to be rescued. He knew he was going to go into the boat and speak to the storm and it would stop. He knew he was going to put his feet into the boat and immediately they would be on the other side.


How did He know? John chapter 5 tells us, “19 So Jesus answered them by saying, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself [of His own accord], unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever things the Father does, the Son [in His turn] also does in the same way.


20 For the Father dearly loves the Son and shows Him everything that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him greater works than these, so that you will be filled with wonder.

The Father was going to send him into a humanly impossible situation where the enemies plan was to destroy the disciples by a raging storm that would cause them to drown.


Jesus knew it before they left the shore. He told them to go the other side and he would meet up with them. He knew “in advance” what was going to happen to them. They didn’t know, but He knew.


The incredible things is that “the answer” to their deliverence was already released before the storm even raged. Jesus is the Prince Of Peace. He gives peace that is beyond human understanding.


When he got to the place where the storm was, He was already walking in the supernatural glory of God His Father. Jesus did not walk on that water on his own accord or authority, the Father told him to do so as the second Adam. He walked on that water as the son of man filled with the Holy Spirit.


Jesus did not walk on that water to show His power. He walked on the water to demonstrate God the Father’s power and love and the realm of dominion authority over nature, the very authority the Father desired to give us!


How do we know that? The Bible says when the disciples saw Jesus coming to them on the water, they thought it was a ghost. Peter was the one that cried out to Jesus, “Is that you Lord.”


Jesus, replied, It is I! They still didn’t believe it and wondered how do we know for sure this is Jesus. Jesus looks at Simon Peter and commands him to do the impossible, "COME TO ME.”


This picture depicts the true picture of the Prince of Peace and the true peace of God. The peace of God (Jesus) was walking on the water in the midst of the storm. The Prince of Peace (Jesus) was not moved by the storm, the winds, or sinking ship.


The Peace of God (Jesus) was already walking on the water to rescue them for what is impossible with men is possible with God.


When Jesus commanded Peter to come. Immediately Peter got out of that boat and obeyed Jesus word as Jesus obeyed his Father’s word to let the disciples go first to the other side of the lake.


Jesus obeyed His father’s command to wait and then at the right time go walk on the sea to rescue them and demonstrate the glory of the Father to them.


Beloved, there was even more here then meets the eye. Jesus the Prince of Peace, the one that give peace beyond understanding was walking in the supernatural glory realm of the Kingdom.


The natural laws, the enemies plans, could not stop the peace of God to come and deliver the disciples out of the storm. Have you ever wondered how Paul and Silas could praise and worship God in that prison cell after being beaten?


They were walking on the water in the jail cell in the peace of God not moved by their circumstances but in the true rest and peace of God. What did the Prince of peace working in them do? Cause an earthquake and open the prison doors to let them out.


Oh, the power of the Prince of peace, the author and finisher of our faith, Beloved of the Lord.


Here in the middle of the sea, the Prince of Peace was on His mission. His mission to WAS TO BE... TO BE.. AND BECOME TO THEM... THE PEACE THAT SURPASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING IN THE MIDST OF THE STORM.


Beloved, The words Jesus says to the storm, PEACE BE STILL, comes after Jesus comes to them and after he commands Peter to walk on the water to Him!


The peace of God comes and changes everything starting when Peter believes Jesus’ word to come and gets out of the boat. In that moment the word for Peter to come and walk on the water everything changes.


The natural laws that govern this sea are suspended by the Prince of Peace for Peter to do the impossible with Jesus. Praise our God!


Think about this, the Prince of Peace says come, and water which no one has ever walked on becomes concrete under Peters’ feet. Peter walks on the water by the Word of the Prince of Peace.


As long as Peter kept his eyes upon Jesus and did not look at the water, the waves or the winds, he was able to walk in the PEACE OF GOD in the midst of the storm.


Oh Beloved, how we must all, including me, live, walk, and dwell more fully in the peace of God. Paul writes it this way in Phil. 4:7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.


That is a sure word for many of us today. MAY THE PEACE OF GOD, WHICH TRANSCENDS ALL UNDERSTANDING, GUARD OUR HEARTS.


Beloved, this is what Paul and Silas experienced in that prison cell. The Prince of Peace was dwelling in them and with them. It transcended all understanding because in the flesh they could have cursed those who beat them because they were innocent.


Yet, they prayed and praised God and then at the midnight hour. The PRINCE OF PEACE, sent angels and an earthquake to set them free supernaturally.


The Father already made the way out for them and only by focusing on Jesus, the Prince of Peace would they be able to get out. What a word that is to us, do you agree?


They found that way out was by abiding in the Prince of Peace who gave them His peace. Jesus said, My peace I give you, and it is not as the world gives. Oh Lord Jesus, fill us with yourself today as our Prince of Peace.


JESUS IS GIVES US HIS PEACE. HE GIVES US HIS PEACE THAT TRANSCENDS ALL UNDERSTANDING. THIS IS THE TRUE REST OF GOD, BUT IT ALSO THE POWER OF GOD TO CHANGE WATER INTO WINE, AND THE IMPENDING PLANS OF THE ENEMY FOR OUR DEFEAT INTO GOD’S VICTORIES!


Many of us are facing very hard and difficult trials and like the disciples today we find ourselves in the middle of the sea in the midst of a hurricane. It may seem like your boat is being filled with water and you can’t bail it out fast enough to keep it from sinking. BUT THEN WHAT DO YOU SEE?


There He is, the Prince of Peace, the Lord Jesus Christ, walking toward each of us on the water of our circumstances. The moment we see Him, WE BEHOLD THE PRINCE OF PEACE!


It is right here where we findJesus in the midst of us and our situations the true peace of God is found. Our deliverer is here and he has come to save us!


This peace of Jesus is not found after he speaks to the storm. The peace of Jesus comes as we behold Him walking toward us in the midst of the storm to rescue us.


Like Peter, we must say, “is this you Lord?” Beloved now it our time that we must also hear him say to us, Come!


We must like Peter, get out of that boat, out of the power the circumstances has tried to keep us. Our Prince of Peace is her to bring us out of that power the enemy wants to use to destroy our life and destiny. It our time to step out of the boat and walk on the sea where the Prince of Peace is waiting for us!


Yes, beloved, when the Prince of Peace is walking on the water, everything he touches becomes His peace and everything changes. As He walks upon the sea and in the midst of the storms, His peace, His presence causes that storm filled seas of circumstances to become concrete under our feet to walk on.


Paul admonishes us in his word in Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.


Today I pray for all of us that in the midst of the storm. I pray that our eyes are FIXED AND WIDE OPEN TO SEE JESUS, the Prince of Peace now WALKING upon the water of our circumstances.


Father, As Jesus is walking on the sea of storms trying to destroy our lives, our families, our health, our finances, our ministry, and our destinies, we declare that the power the enemy tried is now broken and removed. We declare that we see Jesus is here walking on the sea of our circumstances and we hear him calling our name!


Father we now will obey His command and he is calling our names, Henry come, Jonny come, Susie come, and by faith in the Lord we step out of the boat into the realm of the Prince of Peace and His glory and we now walk upon the water with him with our eyes fixed upon him over our circumstances.


Jesus come and take our hand, walk into our our boats,and declare PEACE BE STILL TO THESE STORMS AND THEY WILL STOP AGAINST US AS THEY DID 2,000 YEARS AGO.


We declare and say to the storms of our circumstances you will no longer function against us. For not one weapon formed against us shall prosper. The Prince of Peace, the Rest of God has come into our boats.


The word of God says “immediately the storm stopped by the word of the Prince of Peace, and that is exactly what has happened to us today. Jesus Christ, the same, yesterday, today and forever.


The word of God said, when Jesus sat down, they were immediately... IMMEDIATELY AT THE OTHER SIDE, BY THE PRESENCE AND WORD OF THE PRINCE OF PEACE WHO WAS IN THAT BOAT WITH THEM. SO ARE WE TODAY IN THE NAME OF JESUS.


Romans 10:8 we declare today, 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach! So be it!


Jesus, we put our eyes fully on you and we speak your words and obey you. We hear your call to come and get out of the boat. By faith in you, your word, your power and that you are the Prince of Peace we get up and get out of the boat and walk on the sea of your rest.

We believe you today Lord. As we walk on the water of peace with you, through faith in you, we believe you have spoken to our storms that have raged against us. We hear you say to them, Peace be still and they are still by the power of your words.


Jesus, we believe you are now in our boat and the storms, the circumstances that the enemy tried to destroy us with, you knew about in advance. We believe the Father sent you today to us as He did his disciples by making a way for our complete deliverence. We receive it in Jesus name!


Now by faith in you, we welcome it, we receive it, we accept it. It is our portion! Be it unto us even as thou has spoken. We believe you are the Son of the living God. We believe you are the Prince of Peace and Lord of all Lords.


We believe you have spoken to our storms and now by faith in you the Prince of Peace and King of Kings we are on the other side, in your name Jesus.


Father, thank you for sending your son to us walking on the water. Thank you for sending the Prince of Peace to us today to calm the seas. Thank you for your love for us to rescue us today as you did your disciples. We give you all the praise and all the glory in Jesus name.


We declare and we decree the very words of the Apostle Paul said, “Now we receive from you all you have for us. You are our God who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to you be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
