August 17, 2020 Word For Today: Servant or Friend-The Hour is here!
Beloved of the Lord,
What is your choice today? Is it just to be saved and live your life as it were you own? Is it to work for the Lord as His employee and He is your employer?
Or are you in “love” with Jesus like a Bride for her Bridegroom? Are you burning in passionate love for Him today? Is He your first love?
Is pursuing Him your life and desire? Are you seeking the Kingdom of God firs, and His righteousness?
Psalm 103:7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
Most Christians know the “works” of God, but very few know the ways of God.
To know His ways one must have a deep desire for intimacy. The old saying goes, “you never know someone until you live wit them.” So it is true of us as Christians.
Living in Jesus and Jesus in you. Dwelling in Jesus continually and Him in you, and seeking His face and not His hand brings a new and deeper level of love and fellowship with him.
Matthew 22:14 For many are invited, but few are chosen. All of us are called if we are saved to a deep personal abiding relationship with Him.
All of us are called to be fully connected to Jesus our vine and we his branches that will bear lasting fruit... but few..... very few.. will press on to know Him.
Very few are willing to prepare themselves to be his bride. Very few will give the totality of their being to the Lord to be chosen as his friend.
Abraham was a friend of God. Moses was a friend of God. David was a friend of God. The Disciples at the last supper had paid the price of following Jesus fully to hear these words.
“I know longer call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing, but I have called you friends.”
Has Jesus spoken those words to you? Do you want to hear him say these words to you?
Then John chapter 15 is a place in the Word of God to meditate on in the presence of the Lord and pray for true friendship with him would become your life.
He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Will you pay the price this morning and every day to be his friend? Friends know what the master is doing?
Today, more then ever, we need to be known by God as his friends for what is coming upon the world.
Proverbs 8:17, 21 speaks to this very issue when God says, “I love those who love Me, and those who seek me early and diligently will find Me. Those that I love to cause to inherit true spiritual riches and I fill their treasuries.
What precious promises are released to those who desire intimate friendship and fellowship with the Lord.
John the Beloved, Jesus “friend” was the one He chose to hear the war trumpet in Revelation chapter 1.
John the Beloved was the one chosen to turn around to see Jesus in the glory that he had before the foundation of the world.
John 17: 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—
23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
John sees Jesus in Revelation chapter 1-5 as the King of Glory. The very Jesus that we must see in this hour that has now come upon the world.
Jesus reveals Himself to John not as the Jesus he knew on the earth, but as the I AM, the First and Last, the Beginning and the End, The Alpha and Omega
John sees Jesus with hair as white as snow. His face burning like the sun.
He sees a double edged sword coming out of Jesus mouth. He see the 7 stars Jesus is holding in his hand. He sees a gold sash around his waste and his feet burning like an oven.
This He showed to His friend John. John is a type of “end time” people who will have that kind of intimacy with Jesus. as full grown sons and daughters. They are His friends.
This is what God said about Abraham in Genesis 18:17-19 17 And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham [My friend and servant] what I am going to do,
18 Since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed through him and shall bless themselves by him?
19 For I have known (chosen, acknowledged) him [as My own], so that he may teach and command his children and the sons of his house after him to keep the way of the Lord and to do what is just and righteous, so that the Lord may bring Abraham what He has promised him.
Beloved, we are all offered the choice to be a servant or a friend. Many are called... but few will pay the price to be chosen...
To John the Beloved, Jesus show him a door standing open in heaven. Then the same voice of Jesus as a war trumpet cries out to him, “come up here” so I can show you the things that are to come after.”
Do you want to hear this voice today as a war trumpet? Will you turn around to see Jesus today as the King of Glory Psalm 24? Will you be so in love with Him, that he shows you the door standing open in heaven?
Will you be so one with Jesus he will call you to “come up here, to show you the things that must come hereafter? Don’t you think this would be a critical position for us to have now with the hour that has come upon the earth?
Beloved, Friendship with God is a divine position that must be desired by us. God already desires to have it with us, will we desire to have it with Him?
In that friendship relationship with God, He fills your treasuries with the love and knowledge of the Lord personally.
His friends will be the ones will be the ones prepared, positioned and propelled to be Battle ready in this hours. His servants will not be ready or equipped for what is coming?
So I ask you today in the Holy Spirit, do you want to remain a servant of the Lord like an employee to an employer, or be his friends who will know what their Master is doing?
The choice is yours! There is little time to make it!
