Tell me why

Word for Today: September 8, 2020 early addition: Tell me why

Beloved, I have posted a song for you to listen to at the end of the post.

It is not a Christian song, but a heart cry song of a youth asking question about why things like war, poverty, and social unrest are accepted, when loving your fellow man is so much more important.

I don’t listen to non Christian music, so for me to listen to something has to be Spirit led by God.

Tonight I am wondering out loud? Why are we more concerned about reaching more people then reaching God first?

Why would Jesus say, “apart from me you could do nothing?

Why speak to His disciples these words from John 15?

4 Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me.

5 I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.

6 If a person does not dwell in Me, he is thrown out like a [broken-off] branch, and withers; such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, and they are burned.

7 If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.

8 When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine.

9 I have loved you, [just] as the Father has loved Me; abide in My love

Tell me why? Oh tell me why?

A little boy sang a song called Tell me why? It was not about God, about the pain, suffering and the damages that war has done and how it effect the children.

When I hear it, and I am not into secular music at all, I hear the Lord saying “tell me why, you won’t desire to live in me, abide in me, dwell in me?

Look at the fruit of deserting our first love has cone in our own lives, in our churches in our nations? I know, I am a broken record, but my heart aches for us to return to our first love and to be with him.

I know we have works God has to do with us, in us, and through us to reach the lost, heal the sick, raise the dead and cast out devils, but even above all those things is HIM?

Tell me why? Why won’t we press deeper into our abiding relationship with the Lord. Is working more valuable to our own success verse totally His for His success?

I just don’t get it. Tell me why? I am posting the song not to hear the natural meaning alone, though it poignant and a truth. I pray we hear the Lord calling us and asking us the question: Tell me why?

Lord, open our hearts for you again? Open our heart to love you above all things? Open our heart to want you, see you, and be with you above all else. Lord hear our cry for you? Revive us again, Oh God!

How much more of Jesus would they see in us and through us if we returned to our first love?

Our lives would be lived as “a witness” a “reflection” of His life together in our life and the world would know the Father loves us as he loves Jesus?

The question in my spirit from the Lord, “Tell me why we won’t fully abide in him, and are to busy like a little 7 year old Pastor’s son Andy said, “Why Lord, you give us 2 trillion, billion hours and we give you 30 minutes, it is not fair God, it is not fair?

Andy had the spiritual song of the Lord “tell me why” Declan the small boy below has the natural song of “tell me why” of a world in need of the power of God’s glory and his love.

Good night all.. thanks for reading my out loud pondering tonight.
